Looks like we may have managed to blag — for later this year — one of the last, early morning, visits to the fish auctions…
…as the old Tsukiji market moves to a new location in early October and we’re there in the last 2 weeks of its life on the old site — one where it’s been located since 1935 — I couldn’t be happier.
Although, I’m not sure that the sellers, who fought for a long time against this enforced move, are so impressed; the new site seems to be a bit of a toxic hell-hole.
Breakfast looks great…

This DVD — that I could only find via eBay Japan — is a great 2 hours on the history and commerce of this huge, exciting place, still the largest fish market in the world.
