As part of the book project, the box will also contain a ceramic pig model of one of the 10 rare breeds. And after the book launch they'll also be available for purchase as a standalone item. They remind me very much of some of the works by John Ryan in "Captain Pugwash". What do you think?
And what will I get for my money?
Both, very sensible questions. So, here's the details you need. The book will be available after our public launch at Easton Walled Gardens on 8th September. Along with all of the other items that we are ready to send to you in exchange for not a huge sum of money.
Don't forget to sign up to be sure to be in with a chance to get a copy of the limited edition book and box.
And don't forget that a portion of the profits from all our sales goes towards the preservation work being undertaken by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
You'll get a warm inner glow in knowing that you've bought this unique set of highly collectable items and, at the same time, have helped save the very rare breeds that we've written about and whose prints are at the centre of all of the works. That's what's known as a win-win situation...
Our new book drops in September, a full month before the latest magnum opus from St. Fergus of Henderson. I don't think he's going to be too worried by this knowledge of course; he's rightly probably not fearing overmuch that our beating him into the shops means we are going to be taking thousands & thousands of pounds off his own sales...
But hey, don't let that stop you, you lovely discerning people, as you can always buy both can't you? So, sign up over there on the right 👉👉👉👉👉
Here's some shots of ours, hot off the digital presses (note the butcher's string binding)...
...and here's his. No contest eh? Ours wins hands down. After all, I have Val as the artist. Who's he got? Some nobody of course.
But seriously. Buy our one. Why wouldn't you? But you also have to buy this new delight by Fergus. It's destined to be another classic. I've already ordered my signed copy (just don't tell Val). And don't forget, we'll be signing ours as well.
Finally, in 2019, the long, long road to the release of our book is close to the end. A hand-printed, limited edition Letterpress delight, will soon be available to buy from here. And in The Year Of The Pig as well. How about that for serendipitous timing?
It's being published on 8th September.
Less a book, more a portfolio of 10 perfectly printed pigs with hand set letterpress texts impressed into fine Zerkall paper.
Until that day, and to further whet your appetite, here’s some shots of the work itself in progress and the involved process followed. I should emphasise — here and now and henceforth — that 98% of the necessary hard work was undertaken by Val Littlewood. I did the words. That’s about all; without her skills in linocutting, design (and InDesign), layout and printing, this book would never have happened.
If you’d like to be advised when you can hand over your hard earned, folding stuff, in exchange for a signed copy of this wonder, just pop your email address into the box on the right and we’ll add you to our list of favourite people. [We’ll not use your address for anything else or give it to anyone, we pinky promise!]
