Ham or bacon? “Rock is dead they say, long live rock”.

Length: < 1 min

“I need it every night”…

If push came to shove I’d have to say that the Rhodochrosite is my all time favourite rock because — depending on how it’s cut and polished — it can look EXACTLY like a cooked ham or a slice of fatty bacon.

The rock reminds me a lot of the Chinese piece of artwork called “The Meat-Shaped Stone” (Chinese: 肉形石; pinyin: ròuxíngshí); a piece of jasper that’s been carved into the shape of a large joint of Dongpo pork. It can be seen in the collection of the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan.
